Practice Diary 5
Today I had a band rehearsal at ford where we hired out a room. The goal of the rehearsal was to get used to playing through our setlist together and getting all the timings correct. We played through a range of songs such as Wore the soles of my party boots - NOFX(Wore the soles of my party boots - NOFX), Story of my life- Social Distortion and Cheer Up London - slaves (Cheer up London - Slaves). Because of this range in songs we had to be able to change our amp settings very quickly so that each song sounded how it was supposed to for example if we played cheer up London with the same amp setting as the song by NOFX it wouldn't sound right as cheer up London is much more meaty sound therefore it has a lot more bass in it as opposed to treble. We also had to get use to our levels and sorting out the right volume and balance between all the instruments and vocals. After this rehaersal i learnt a lot of handy skills which had come into place when setting up performances and rehearsals at college. As well as this i was able to help people set up their instruments correctly and make sure all the levels were correct.
