Practice Diary 7
since my last practice diary i decided i need to start playing more songs that aren't just chords. An example of this is the song Psycho by Muse which i did for one of my solo performances. This song has a mixture of chords and individual notes as well. This song also has very unique guitar effects such as a chorus effect, a lot of overdrive and a tiny bit of delay. Luckily my amp at home has a mod switch which allows me to give my guitar chorus and delay effects without having to spend lots of money on the pedals. To achieve the level of overdrive needed i plugged in my Boss DS-1 distortion pedal and gave my guitar a lot of bass on the amp but high treble on the pedal in order to balance out the tone. This song wasn't too tricky to play but i wasn't use to playing chords then quickly changing to palm muting then changing to picking individual notes. This song also contained a lot of hammer on and pull offs which i wasn't use to but eventually got the hang of it in the end.
